Microsoft Office 2007 product key is an adaptation of Microsoft Office, a family unit of office collection and output application for Windows, created and available.

I've been asked to 're-key' my copy of MS Office 2007 to use a different product key. Is this possible? If so, how would I do it?

Microsoft offers the answer to this question here. It applies to earlier versions of Microsoft Office as well.

• Close all Office programs.
• Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then click OK.
• Locate and then click the following subkey, depending on your version of Windows and of Office:

32-bit versions

64-bit versions

• Export the Registration subkey
  • You can make a backup of the values under the Registration subkey if the new product key does not work. To do this, follow these steps:
    • Right-click the Registration subkey, and then click Export.
    • In the Save in list, select a location to save the registration entries.
    • In the File name box, type a name for the .reg file that you want to export, and then click Save.
• Under the Registration subkey, there may be several Globally Unique Identifiers (GUID) that contain a combination of alphanumeric characters. Each GUID is specific to a program that is installed on your computer.
  • Click a GUID. Then, view the version of Office that is listed in the right pane for the Productname registry entry. After you find the GUID that contains the version of your Office program, follow these steps:
    • Right-click the DigitalProductID registry entry, click Delete, and then click Yes.
    • Right-click the ProductID registry entry, click Delete, and then click Yes.
• Open an Office program, such as Microsoft Word. When you receive a message that prompts you for the product key, type the correct product key, and then click OK.

Activate Office 2007 over the Internet or by phone

When you enter your valid Product Key, the Activation Wizard starts automatically and gives you two choices on how to proceed:

• Activate by using the Internet The Activation Wizard automatically contacts the Microsoft licensing servers through your Internet connection. If you are using a valid Product Key that has not already been used for the allowed number of installations, your product is activated immediately.
  When you activate through the Internet, your product ID (derived from the installation Product Key) is sent to Microsoft. A response (the confirmation ID) is sent back to your computer to activate your product. If you choose to activate your product through the Internet and you are not already connected, the wizard alerts you that there is no connection.
• Activate by using the telephone You can telephone an Activation Center using the numbers for your specific country/region listed in this article to activate your product with the help of a customer service representative.
  Telephone activation might take longer than activation through the Internet. You should be at your computer when you call, and you should have your software Product Key available.

     The customer service representative asks you for your installation ID (displayed on your screen) and other relevant information. After your installation ID is verified, you receive a confirmation ID.
  2. In the Activation Wizard, type the confirmation ID in the spaces provided at the bottom of the screen, and then press ENTER.
  3. Telephone activation is not available for Trial and Subscription versions.
  4. Microsoft Text Telephone (TT/TTY) services are available for individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing. In the United States, using a TT/TTY modem, dial (800) 718-1599. From outside the United States, using a TT/TTY modem, dial (716) 871-6859. TT/TTY service is only available in English.

What are activation, grace period, and reduced functionality?

To continue to use all the features of your product, you must activate the product. Microsoft Product Activation is a Microsoft anti-piracy technology that verifies software products are legitimately licensed.

Grace period Before you enter a valid Product Key, you can run the software 25 times, which is the grace period.
